Woods Requested Extension for this Weeks PGA Championship: Tiger Woods

After Tiger Woods withdrew from last weeks WGC-Bridgestone Invitational due to a possible back injury, there are reports that he requested an extension for registration for this weeks PGA Championship. The deadline to register for this week’s tournament was Tuesday at 5pm.  He reached out, along with 5 others, to get an extension.  Woods is currently in Florida taking care of his back spasms that seemed to be the cause of sudden withdrawal last week.  Mark Steinberg, Tiger Woods manager, reported to Golf Channel on Tuesday. Tiger Woods has until opening round tee time on Thursday to register.  So, we will see what happens.  The future was looking gloomy was he left the course last week, but has given the public regained hope once again. “The PGA would be Woods’ fourth event since he underwent back surgery on March 31 and his last tournament to qualify for the Ryder Cup and perhaps the FedEx Cup playoffs, unless he were to add next week’s Wyndham Championship to his schedule in an attempt to make a postseason push.”...
