The first major golf tournament of the season, played annually at the Augusta National Golf Club, and is like an early Christmas present to the golf community. If you watched the exciting tournament, then you know it was nothing short of shocking. Twists and turns exciting hole-in-ones that eventually led to an Englishman, Danny Willet, to win the green jacket.
As of yesterday, there had only been 24 holes-in-one in the history of The Masters. Today, three golfers earned that distinction on the same hole: lucky number 16.
Shane Lowry showed us first, Davis Love III next, and then Louis Oosthuizen bounced off another ball to get the third.
–AUGUSTA, Ga. — Jordan Spieth is the only person who didn’t see Jordan Spieth lose the 2016 Masters. Spieth stood on the tee box at No. 12 having just etched two straight bogeys onto his final round scorecard at Augusta. He’d fallen to 5 under after starting the second nine bogey-bogey. Right before he pegged his ball, the scoreboard operator next to the 12th tee put a fat, red “4” next to Danny Willett‘s name. The Englishman had just birdied No. 14 to get within one of the defending champ. They were the two names at the top.– CBSSPORTS.COM
